We understand that you will have lots of questions before making a booking. We have made a list of FAQs and hope that they assist you in finding the most suitable service for you and your dog.
What areas do Doggy Trails and Waggy Tails cover?
Our main catchment area is Burscough and the surrounding areas of Ormskirk, Aughton and Rufford. Occasionally we can accommodate ad hoc walks out of the area subject to a fuel charge.
Is my dog suitable for walkies and adventures with Doggy Trails and Waggy Tails?
All our walks and adventures are pack walks. Your dog must be friendly and able to walk with other dogs and be well socialised. Good recall when off lead is preferable. If your dog must be kept on lead it must be able to walk without excessive pulling.
Please also refer to our Neutering Policy.
Is my dog suitable for doggy day care?
We only accept day care dogs that are well socialised with other dogs and dogs that are comfortable with human interactions and children. We do not accept dogs that are aggressive or reactive.
Ideally, dogs should be familiar with resting for short periods of time without barking excessively or demonstrating other anxious behaviours.
Special arrangements can be made to accommodate the developing needs of puppies. However, day care is not suitable to replace lost opportunities for early socialisation.
Please note, we may take up to 8 dogs on day care at any one time.
Please also refer to our Neutering Policy.
Is my dog suitable for home boarding?
We only home board dogs that are well socialised, well behaved and comfortable with human interactions including children. We do not accept aggressive or reactive dogs.
Dogs should be familiar with being left to rest for short periods of time without excessive barking.
Please note, we may home board up to 5 dogs at any one time.
Please also refer to our Neutering Policy.
What is your Neutering Policy?
We cannot accept in season bitches for walking, adventures, doggy day care and / or home boarding unless written acceptance has been provided.
We cannot accept un-neutered males if an in season bitch is on the premises.
We only accept friendly un-neutered dogs for walking, adventures, doggy day care and home boarding.
Do you offer a free Meet and Greet service?
Yes. We would love to pop in to meet you and your doggy.
Will my dog always be walked by the same person?
More often than not, yes. For busier periods and holidays, we are assisted by the wider Doggy Trails family and one or two fellow dog walkers. Helen’s 4 sons also enjoy spending time with the doggies and regularly join in with the adventure walks.
What happens if my dog gets muddy?
We carry a portable hose and plenty of towels to ensure your dog is hosed down and dried off before being returning home. From time to time the doggies may get extra muddy and when this happens, we will do our best to clean them off before settling them down at home. We will never leave a dog wet and cold.
